Brahms’ Symphony No. 2

The National Orchestral Institute and Festival, a program of the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, trains aspiring orchestral musicians through a rigorous, cross-country audition process. Hear these young artists present Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, frequently nicknamed his “Pastoral” symphony, along with Errollyn Wallen’s Mighty River and Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose.
Show of Titles – Featuring Glenn Close, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kelsey Grammar & More
Sun., June 13, 7 p.m.
A rousing and memorable celebration of title songs from more than two dozen Broadway musicals spanning nine decades, ranging from “Lady Be Good” to “The Light in the Piazza.” Available for four days only. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.
Florida Georgia Line
Sat. June 12, 8:20 p.m.
The popular Country music act will headline the next Encore Drive-In Nights concert, which will be broadcast to hundreds of outdoor drive-ins – including the Bangor Drive-In in Hermon! “We’re so excited to start playing shows again and can’t wait to bring this special one to all of our fans around the world,” shares FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. Special guests are Nelly, Chase Rice and Rachel Wammack.
Guys & Dolls Reunion!
Wed., June 16, 8 p.m.
Stars In The House, a daily live-streamed series to support The Actors Fund, presents a very special reunion of the 1992 cast of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Guys and Dolls including Nathan Lane, Peter Gallagher and many others. The Escher String Quartet
Available through June 17
The Escher String Quartet, who graced our stage during the 2017-18 season, performs a program you’re sure to enjoy. The program includes: Bartók Quartet No. 6 for Strings, BB 119 (1939) and Sibelius Quartet in D minor for Strings, Op. 56, “Voces intimae” (1909). Read the digital program notes here. 21st Century Choreographers
Streaming through June 27
The Royal Ballet celebrates the creative vision of some of today’s finest international choreographers in a mixed program of contemporary work. This program opens with Royal Ballet Artistic Associate Christopher Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour, originally created for San Francisco Ballet in 2008. Brought into the Royal Ballet repertory in 2016, with glittering designs by Jasper Conran, the ballet weaves ensemble pieces with pas de deux reflecting the beauty of movement.
