The Chamber Music Society is dedicated to supporting and promoting an annual classical chamber music series at the Collins Center for the Arts. Named in honor of former CCA director John Patches and his wife Elizabeth, the John and Elizabeth Patches Chamber Music Series brings world-class chamber musicians to intimate settings, often in the acoustically superb Minsky Recital Hall at the University of Maine.
These concerts captivate audiences who appreciate the artistry and passion of exceptional soloists and small ensembles. Many featured musicians have earned prestigious awards and performed on some of the world’s most renowned chamber music stages. The series showcases a broad repertoire, from beloved Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works to dynamic contemporary pieces by leading composers. The Chamber Music Society’s steering committee helps to plan exciting and varied chamber music experiences that appeal to audiences of all ages. Members of the committee and the Collins Center staff welcome audience and member responses and ideas for programming.
