Collins Center for the Arts

Located on the University of Maine campus, the Richard R. and Anne A. Collins Center for the Arts (CCA) is the cultural centerpiece of eastern and northern Maine. Now in our 34th season, the CCA continues to present world-class performances in a wide variety of art forms and cultures, appealing to diverse interests and age groups.

Hutchins Concert Hall

The 1,435-seat Hutchins Concert Hall is a multi-use space that hosts a wide variety of events, presenting classical and contemporary music, dance, theater, comedy, ceremonies, and lectures. The interior design of the hall features seating for 835 on the orchestra level and 600 in the balcony. Our 50-foot high ceilings and the shape of the gradually-sloped roof create a perfect acoustical setting for distributing sound. Plush red seats and curved walls add warmth, comfort, and luxury to the room.

Minsky Recital Hall

Located adjacent to the Collins Center for the Arts in the Class of 1944 Hall, the intimate 276-seat Minsky Recital Hall is the perfect place to experience some of history’s most influential instrumental and vocal music performed live by internationally acclaimed artists. The venue is home to the Music in Minsky series, which encompasses the John I. and Elizabeth E. Patches Chamber Music Series, as well as an annual jazz series. Students and faculty from the The School of Performing Arts  regularly perform in the space, as well.

The Bodwell Area

The Bodwell Lounge located on the third floor of the Collins Center for the Arts is an ideal location for small gatherings. The Bodwell area has a small kitchen and pantry space. Elevator access is available.

Miller’s Café

The Miller’s Café located on the ground floor provides food and beverages for most Collins Center events. In addition, the Café is commonly used for lectures, discussions, and receptions. Its easy access and attached kitchen make it the ideal location for small events and functions.

The Hudson Museum

Located inside of the Collins Center for the Arts, the Hudson Museum celebrates a world of culture and cultures of the world. The Museum offers guided tours and gallery programs, lectures, workshops and an annual Maine Indian Basketmakers sale and demonstration. The Hudson Museum is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and during Collins Center for the Arts and Bangor Symphony Orchestra events.
